If we compare Scottish inventions with danish inventions, Scotland have more engineering inventions, while Denmark have a few more physics inventions. ex. The univers variability by Tycho Brahe, the Atom structure by Niels Bohr. ect. the elektromagnetisme by H.C. Ørsted.

One of the reasons to why Scotland had invented so much engineering, is because of their landscape (hills, highland ect.) while in Denmark we have a flat landscape. that is one of the reasons, in Denmark we had used scots engineering to build brigh

Television
The first television was invented by John Logie Baird he was the first to send a picture from London to New York through a 6000 km long sea wire. Alan Campbell-Swinton was the man that invented the technology to the television
Telephone
The first practical telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell, he teaches deaf people, and he make devices to deaf people, and it was under a experiment, that he discovered the first practical telephone. Even it wasn’t him that invented the telephone it was the Italian Antonio Meucci
Steam Engineering

In engineering Scotland had invented several things. Ex
Steam engine, which was invented by James Watt, it was invented in the eighteenth century in the same time as the Industrial Revolution.  Soon a man called George Stephenson took his idea to a new stage and invented the steam locomotive.
The idea of steam engine goes back to the first century where a greek mathematician (Hero of Alexandria), where he invented a steam turbine. Then in 1712 Thomas Newcomen invented the first commercially successful engine.
James watt invented in 1763 an improved version of Newcomen (James engine used 75% less coal).Watt improved Newcomen engine, that it soon was the dominated steam engine.

The first cloned mammal
1997 was the first mammal cloned. Ian Walmut was the name of the leader of the cloning, and it took place on Roslin Institute in Edinburgh. The meaning of this cloning was to create the perfect breeding sheep. The sheep they created was called Dolly. Dolly was named after the country singer Dolly Parton, because it was cloned by an adult goat’s breast web and a fertilized egg.

What did the scientists do??
The scientists took a fertilized egg from a sheep and added gens from another specie of a sheep. The cells were affected by low voltage, so the membranes would open and the gens could enter and then they melted together. (Like we did in an assignment in biotechnology, where we used virtual lab.) The cells, which received the gens from the other sheep, where placed in uterus of a sheep. Month after Dolly was born and she was healthy and lively.

Penicillin

Penicillin was discovered by a accident in 1928 by the scottish bacteriologist Sir Alexander Fleming. When he was working with bacterial on St. Mary´s hospital in London, was one of his petridishes  with staphylococcus aureus defile with a fungus. He observe that the bakterial could not grow  close to the funguscolony. He identify  fungus as Penicillium chrysogenenum. He begin to grow the fungus and discovered that the fungus was antibacterial for many diseasescause bacterials. This drug has saved more lives than the number lost in all the wars of history.

Radar

The first one that used radios waves to detect was a German scientist, that show that he could find metal (a ship) in a fog, this happen in 1904, but he couldn’t not say how far away it was. The idea to find ship was a great idea and the USA, British, German, France and Japan all investigated in this technology. The first that make radar that was functional was the British, and they used it as defends against aircraft attack. The Germen though that these masts was death ray.

Information

Hello folks.
In about a month we are going on a trip to Scotland with our class. We are staying in Edinburg, Scotlands capital, after we have been traveling in Highlands. Before we are traveling to Scotland, we have an assignment . where our class is divided into 5 groups. In our group, we are going to see at Scots inventions. Beside that, we will, when we arrive to Scotland, see a part of Scottish inventions.
Welcome to Scotland Science
